Wallpaper looks incredibly good and modern, it gives a super stylish touch to any space. Considering how trendy it is, this article we'll be all about closet wallpaper. What designers have to say about Wallpaper and how to use it? Let's see...
The trend for wallpaper is hotter than ever. People are loving the fact that they can express themselves in their interiors via the use of a bold pattern on their walls easily achieved by the installation of wallpaper. It is the ultimate mega transformation of a space. Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Martyn Lawrence Bullard Design
Closets are usually small spaces and adding wallpaper with a bold pattern has such a high impact on it, plus is cost-effective because you’re working with a small amount of square footage. Alexandra Gater.
So Designers opinions have answer our first question…
Why?
It’s trendy, modern, and is an artistic expression. Using Wallpaper could help us create a high impact on a small space, and other than what we may think, could be cheap due to the fact that closets are small, so we’ll only have a few square meters to cover up.
I’ve found some great tips on Vogue with a lot of experts comments, and the answer to our two remaining questions, here’s a brief summary:
Where?
“I always think wallpaper is better when used en masse. I like to do a whole room rather than the very dated ‘feature wall.’ I think that’s how you really get impact and a finished look. It can be above a wainscot or all over the walls, ” says Bullard.
So, according to Bullard, we should use the Wallpaper in the whole closet and not only a single wall, making the wallpaper the center stage.
How?
Let’s keep in mind what all designers agree with, that when choosing a wallpaper, the biggest factor is the size of the room “smaller rooms, smaller prints” says Kathryn M. Ireland. “For large spaces, wallpaper will make a bold statement with large patterns” says Marissa Zajack.
“Too small of a pattern in a large room can become fussy and annoying, too large can overpower the space,” says Martyn Lawrence Bullard.
Here’s a great idea of Bullard, on how to be sure of the Wallpaper you’re using “Buy one roll, and pin the paper up to your wall. Then leave it up for a while. Look at it in the morning light, midday light, and evening light to be sure you love the way it looks in all its moods. And if you do, well that’s the one for you”. Genius, right?
